# Chat with Aubrey

Use chat when you want Aubrey to make a plan, draft a reply, summarize information, or help decide the next step.

## Start a message

Open an agent and type in **Message Aubrey...**

If the chat is empty, Aubrey may show starter cards such as:

* Turn notes into a plan
* Prioritize my week
* Create next steps
* Help me decide

After the conversation has started, use the sparkles button labeled **Not sure how to use Aubrey?** to open starter cards again.

Press **Enter** to send. Press **Shift+Enter** for a new line.

## Attach files

If file upload is available, choose the paperclip attachment button, select one or more files, wait for the file chips to appear, and then choose **Send**.

You can send text, files, or both.

## Stop or retry work

Use **Cancel run** if Aubrey is working and you want it to stop.

Use **Retry run** if a run failed or was canceled and you want Aubrey to try again.

## Approve or reject actions

Some actions need approval before Aubrey continues. When Aubrey shows an approval card, choose **Approve** or **Reject**.

If Aubrey needs a connected account or a plan upgrade, follow the card shown in the chat.

If the card is for a connection, file selection, or upgrade and you send a different message instead, Aubrey stops waiting on that earlier setup step and treats the new message as a new request. Open the latest card when you are ready to continue the original setup step.
